Albany Fire is a volunteer fire department.   WE ARE NOT CURRENTLY ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS.  

Requirements:
1) Must be 18 years of age
2) Must have a Valid Indiana Drivers License
3) Must able to pass the Indiana Firefighter 40 Hour Mandatory Class
4) Must complete NIMS 100, 200, 700, 800 
5) Complete a Physical Agility Test
6) Pass an aptitude test
7) Complete the Command Staff Board Interview
8) Be voted on by the members of the Fire Department


Probation:
All new firefighters are on probation for a 6 month period while in the recruit process.  Once new firefighters have completed their probationary period, they will be voted on as full members to the Albany Fire Department.


Out of Town Firefighters:
The Albany Fire Department allows for up to 5 firefighters to be on the department as active members at one time.  These firefighters are required to work 20 hours per month on station and still are required to attend training and meetings.  These members are able to hold Board positions but are not able to hold any Officer positions.
